Slow-cooked Roast Pork

slowThe very sight of roasted pork never fails to excite me, whether it comes off the grill, oven or slow cooker.  The advantage of a slow-cooked roast pork is that it gives the meat the juicy tenderness that may not always be achieved from the other ways of preparation.  By adding liquid smoke to the recipe, one gets the aroma and taste that result from the grilling process. So, when you start to crave for roast pork but don’t have the time to put into your cooking, reach for your slow cooker, place all your ingredients in it, turn the heat on and forget about it — until its done!

INGREDIENTS

1.5 lbs pork butt (2 pcs)

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/3 cup brown sugar

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp freeze-dried garlic bits

1/2 tsp ground pepper

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tsp dried parsley

1 tsp liquid smoke

DIRECTIONS

Place the pork pieces in the slow cooker. Add the rest of the ingredients.  Turn slow cooker to low and cook for 10 hours. When ready to serve, place roast pork on a plate and pour the remaining juice over the meat.  Serve with your favorite vegetables on the side.
